November Lakeshore Link 2022

Hello Scouts, Scouters, and Scouting Families!

Wow, we are having a great fall here in the Lakeshore District! October was a month of growth, events, meetings, popcorn and lots of Scouting. November promises to be a great month and a wonderful time to reflect and be thankful for all that we have and all that we have done.

Fall Recruitment Update:
Goals, Stretch Goals, and Incentives Oh, My!

I am happy to announce that Lakeshore District has reached a huge milestone!  We officially have more Scouts registered than we did at the end of last year and are well on our way of reaching our district Fall Recruitment goal of welcoming 309 new Scouts. To help reach that goal each unit has been assigned a base & stretch goal for recruitment and the council has come up with a great incentive for those who reach those goals.
  • Units will receive 1 Free Registration to Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO), or Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) for achieving their assigned New Youth Base Fall Recruitment Goal by October 31, 2022.
  • Each unit will receive a Second Free Registration to Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO), or Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) for achieving their assigned New Youth Stretch Fall Recruitment Goal by October 31, 2022.
So far we have 4 Packs who have earned the stretch goal!

Lakeshore District hosted our 2nd Annual Corporate Pinewood Derby on October 20th

The fundraising event was a great success with lots of fun had by our racers! The race was held at 3 Sheeps Brewery in Sheboygan. The adult only outlaw class race was as fun to watch as it was for the adults to build and race their own Pinewood Derby Cars! The winning car was built by the United Way of Sheboygan professional staff!

A big thank you goes out to our sponsors:

Beshkno Chapter News

Mark your calendars for Saturday, January 14th for the Beach Bash on the Bog District Klondike held at Camp Rokilio. Events will range from knots and lashings to fun activities. Adults don’t forget to enter the 2nd annual Adult Leader Chili Cook off.

Attention all Scouts BSA Scoutmaster, Venturing Advisers, and Sea Scout Skippers! Order of the Arrow Unit Elections will start soon, so make sure you have youth elegible, and an election date in mind. You have until March 31st, 2023 to complete your election.

Save the date for November 11-13th for Kon Wapos Lodge’s, Lodge Leadership Development held at Gardner Dam. This event is open to all Arrowmen both youth and adults. We will have great training and fellowship at this event. Plus, rumor has it that our very own Section Chief, Mydasia Z. will be in attendance.

WE NEED YOUTH to attend our meetings, if we don’t get more youth to attend our meetings, then we will be forced to hand Klondike back to the district and not be able to offer our World Famous Call Out Ceremony at Spring Camporee. We meet the same time and place as Roundtable, on the 2nd Thursday of the month at Lakeland University at 7pm.
