In 100 seasons for the Green Bay Packers franchise, no player has had more receiving yards than Jordy Nelson had in 2014 with 1,519 yards. Nelson earned NFL Comeback Player of the Year as a Packer in 2016. In 10 seasons with the Packers, Nelson ranks No. 3 in franchise history in receptions (550), No. 5 in receiving yards (7,848), No. 2 in touchdown receptions (69), and No. 3 in 100-yard receiving games (25). Nelson is the only player in Green Bay Packers history to record three seasons with 13-plus touchdown receptions (2011, 2014, 2016). In 2019, after a remarkable career in the NFL, Nelson retired as a Green Bay Packer. Nelson now resides in Kansas with his wife Emily and their three children, Royal, Brooks, and Adda.

Please send an email to Warren Kraft or use our Submit A Story Link and help us continue to tell the great stories of Scouting. | | | | | | We are once again well into that season when Webelos II’s cross over into Scouts BSA units, a tradition that has long existed. It is a wonderful time when Cub Scouts are recognized for their achievements and begin to move to the next rank, Webelos are awarded their Arrow of Light awards, and excitement builds as many continue along the Scouting trail. Scouts BSA units receive new members with enthusiasm and welcome them into their meetings, outings, and activities. This is indeed a season of celebration, but perhaps not for all. For some, that cross over bridge is a bridge too far. | | | | | | | | Once a month, The Guide features the most recent Scouts who achieved their Eagle Award. We read the stories of several Scouts who choose to submit their news and pictures. That is but a fraction of the Bay-Lakes Council Scouts who successfully complete their Eagle Board of Review. Did you know that there were 193 Eagles awarded last year? And just six weeks into 2023 there are already 25 Eagle Scouts.
Scouting Magazine reports that each year, about six percent of eligible Scouts become Eagle Scouts. When you consider the entire population of Scout-age youth in this country, that percentage drops to about 0.3%. Indeed, extremely rare accomplishment. Yet as the highest and most coveted award in all of Scouting, Eagle. Org, writes that Scouting has achieved its purpose in these Eagles: in building "participating citizenship," in growth in moral strength and character, and in development in physical, mental, and emotional fitness. At the National Court of Honor, when the local unit actually presents the award to the Scout, you will often hear these words: Eagle Scouts are some of the most well-prepared leaders for life, ready for both schooling and a career. By the time a Scout is 18 and achieved this rank, they’ve built strong skills in areas of leadership and communication.
Every day, Scouting happens, from the Lions to the Eagles, in Venturing, Exploring, and Sea Scouts, from the youth through the adults, from the family's commitment to the community at large. Becoming an Eagle celebrates a youth's life-long commitment. That is why we pause to celebrate, because trying to catch up with them can be challenging: they are busy living their daily lives as an Eagle.
