Happy September and all things new, like all the new seasons: School, Fall, Football, Soccer, Scouting, Recruitment, and so much more! As summer comes to an end and we welcome fall this month is full of change and settling into a new routine, with that new routine comes new chances for growth. If everyone reading this please do at least one thing to help grow your Pack, Troop, or Ship, invite a friend to an upcoming meeting, tell a coworker about the great things your Scout is up to, share on Social Media what your unit is up to or why Scouting is important to your family. | |

Reminder No Roundtable this Month, use this time to grow your unit! However OA will be meeting at the Rokilio Welcome Center 7-8pm 
October 12th 7pm at Lakeland University (Laun Center) will be the next Roundtable meeting. Add this to your calendar, we will be offering trainings, networking, and a chance to meet other Scout Leaders & Parents.

Popcorn Reminders The annual Popcorn Sale is a fundraiser your Pack, Troop, Ship, or Post won't want to miss out on. Units can earn up to a 41% commission, a great way for your Scouts to fund their adventures! The sale has started, but there is still time to register for the sale, your Scouts can do the "take order" part of the sale and or place a Show & Sell "mid-sale reorder". The Lakeshore District Membership Committee would like to challenge each and every Leader, Volunteer, Parent, Alumni, and Scout to "do their best" to grow Scouting this month and beyond! Share in the Lakeshore District Roundtable Facebook Group your recruitment efforts! Show us your yard signs, posters, popcorn table setups, pictures of your invites your pack sends out to get more Scout in the pack, share your outside the box practice's! Everyone who shares in the group will be entered into a drawing! | |

Our first meeting of the year will be Thursday, September 14 at 7pm at Camp Rokilio. We will be meeting in the new Visitor Center and will be electing our new officers for the 2023-2024 year. Positions are for Chief, Vice Chief and Secretary and these are for youth under the age of 21. We will begin planning our District Klondike, which will be held on Saturday, January 13th at Camp Rokilio.

 The Balde Farm and Princess My Party Ltd have invited the Lakeshore District to be part of their Boo Bash on October 29th! They are looking for a Troop to host a Brat Fry (Troop can keep the proceeds but will do all the work & shopping), the District is also looking for a Pack or Troop to host a table to pass out treats and talk about Scouting. Please email Sally if your troop wants to host the brat fry or if your troop or pack want to work the treat table, treats supplied by the district. Wearing Uniforms or Costumes are encouraged if your unit decides to volunteer.

It seems like Christmas is ages away but here at the Museum we are planning away. However we, the Lakeshore District Scouts have be asked by the Sheboygan County Museum to see if we would participate in their Holiday Memories Community Tree project. The museum invites local organizations to come and decorate a tree with whatever materials they would like. From handmade to store-bought it is up to us. These objects can be random or correspond to a theme or maybe they convey what our organization does, the options are as wide as your imagination is. The only rule is that nothing edible gets placed on the tree. The theme for Holiday Memories this year is "Holiday Delights." The trees will be available to decorate starting November 13th, and we need to be decorated and ready to go no later than November 21st. Sally has reserved a tree for the District and would love for a pack or troop to coordinate the decorating of the tree. Please email Sally at Sally.bork@scouting.org if your pack or troop would like to take the lead on this I would love to see handmade ornaments from each unit on this tree!

The Fall BALOO Course will be held at Camp Rokilio Saturday, October 14- 15th. BALOO is the Cub Scout leader training required for any Cub Scout den or pack outdoor event, including pack camping overnighters and Webelos den overnighters. Come join us for a weekend of camping and learning at Camp Rokilio!

 Welcome! We are glad you’re here. This Saturday event is a unique opportunity to celebrate Fall and recruit new faces to Scouting! The programming planned will enhance participation for Lions (K) & Tigers (1st), Wolf (2nd) & Bear (3rd), and Webelos (4th & 5th), while also delivering a camp experience to anyone interested in becoming a Cub Scout, and all the youth who joined this Fall! These activities will build comradery, and be FUN! Saturday lunch will be provided. WHO: All Boys & Girls, Grades K-5 WHEN: October 21, 2023
