It is with great excitement that we invite you, your family, and your friends to join us in celebrating the Bay-Lakes Council's 50th Anniversary at the historic Lambeau Field Atrium on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

The Golden Eagle celebration will gather “50 Extraordinary Scouts You Should Know” who were Scouts as a youth and have gone off to have had a lasting impact in business, community, government, and service to others. As a further highlight, we are honored to have former Green Bay Packers wide receiver, Jordy Nelson, as our guest speaker, adding to the significance of this occasion.

As we recognize “50 Scouts You Should Know” as testament to their dedication, leadership, and compassion, we genuinely hope you can join in celebration of this remarkable milestone in the history of the Bay-Lakes Council.

To learn more about these extraordinary individuals, visit our "50 Scouts You Should Know" web page.

Have you been thinking about a Philmont Trek? Now is the time to sign up for the 2024 Bay-Lakes Council Philmont Contingent! Every year, the Council reserves a number of spots at Philmont. This means that your unit does not need to find a complete Crew with adult leadership and hope to get assigned a Crew in the yearly lottery. All you need is to sign up yourself, or yourself and a buddy or two, (with or without an adult leader). For more information, dates, cost, and registration, follow the link below.

When we first met as he staffed summer resident camp at Bear Paw Scout Camp, he was, what many would consider, a scrawny teenager. Though he may have been “slight” in stature, he was one of many talented staffers who excelled in their commitment to summer camp. This dedication continued as he served as Awase Lodge Chief. Then, it was off to the college for Eagle Scout, Joshua Hunt, a member of Troop 1008 in Green Bay. We know him simply as Josh, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, graduate in fine arts, and school teacher in the Milwaukee area.

Earlier this month, this Lead Exhibition Designer and Artist in Residence unveiled a painting to celebrate the inaugural class of Eagle Scouts. Titled “A Grand Moment” -- it was first presented at the Philmont Scout Ranch Committee Dinner. It will be on display at the National Scouting Museum as part of its Next Century display.

And it is simply the latest of his artistic creations for both Boy Scouts of America and the Order of the Arrow. In summer 2020, Aaron on Scouting published a story about his artwork unveiled for the Order of the Arrow’s MOMENTUM LAUNCH. Writer Michael Freeman presents an excellent snapshot into this formerly scrawny scout’s artistic talents and abilities. Follow this link.

Congratulations, Josh! Your continued commitment to excellence in Scouting, and beyond in the art world, deserves much credit and praise. Thanks for sharing those “scrawny” years together. Much continued good luck and success.

See you on the Trail
